Sinmi Akin-Aina is a Doctoral Researcher at the Bielefeld Graduate School in History and Sociology, Bielefeld, Germany where she does research on:
Refugees, Cities, Citizenship, and Transnationalism. Her previous experience includes: research, project coordination, and program evaluation at the African Leadership Center (Nairobi and King’s College London), evaluations for the Borderless Higher Education for Refugees Program at Dadaab Refugee Camp (York University), and work with the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, the National Integrated Monitoring and Evaluation System for Kenya, and the Regional University Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture. Sinmi holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from McGill University, a Masters of Social Work degree from Carleton University, Ottawa, and is currently engaged in Doctoral Studies in Sociology at the University of Bielefeld.
